1) 縁頭 松林図 堀江派(無銘)

金色絵の魚々子地に華やかさを演出し、縁起良い長寿の松林を赤銅で高彫りにし、コントラストを引き立たせた御目出度い図柄。浜野政随と大森英秀に学んだ「堀江興成」を祖とする堀江派は、阿波蜂須賀家お抱え工。保存鑑定書付。江戸時代後期。19c.

This is an elegant art work by Horie School that a symbol of long life, pine forest is depicted in high carving on gold colored nanako ground.
The founder of this school is Horie Okinari who is a pupil of the Hamano and Omori, and worked for
powerful feudal lord in Awa (Tokushima Pref.) Hachisuka Family. 19c. Hozon certificate paper.

2) 鐔 正月飾り図 無銘 水戸

寸法:縦65.0×横60.0×厚さ5.5 (mm)
解説:注連縄、門松や蓬莱飾りなどの新年に欠かせぬ正月飾りを、四分一地に配した水戸金工による鐔。
新年の門出を祝うに相応しい画題。江戸時代後期。保存鑑定書付。

Traditional decorations for New Year celebration such a sacred straw festoon, entrance pine tree
and food decoration, are depicting on Shibuichi (copper-silver alloy) ground made by Mito School.

3) 三番叟図 (無銘)

能「翁」で、三番目に出る老人の舞を三番叟(さんばそう)といい、五穀豊穣を願い、新年や婚礼祝賀の席で演じられる。
華やかな衣装の翁らを、描写細かく仕上げている。江戸時代後期。

Sambaso is an auspicious program of traditional Nou playing which has a meaning of wishing for bumper crops,
and often performed in the New Year and cerebration events etc. Dancing old men wearing gorgeous costume are
so fine details. 19c.

4) 小柄 若竹根曳松図 無銘 寿乗
Design of Nebiki-matsu by Goto Jujo (unsigned)
 
寸法:縦14.5×横96.0 (mm)
解説:根曳松とは、正月初めの子(ね)の日に、根ごと引き抜いた松で、門松に用いられる。
初春の情景を歌った同名の曲も江戸時代には作られた。後藤宗家12代目寿乗(1695-1742)の優品。
江戸時代中期。保存鑑定書付。

Nebiki-matsu is a pine tree with the root still attached, and it used for Kado-matsu which decorates
at a housegate to welcome the deity in the New Year. There is also a song with music titled the same Nebiki-matsu which lyrics describe early spring scene.
Goto Jujo (Mitsumasa) is the 12th mainline master of Goto School.
